Genre: Guidebook, Writing
Themes: Defining Science Fiction vs Fantasy, World Building, Structure, etc.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to write, and especially for those of us who want to write speculative fiction.
This book helped me understand the genre better: its unique intricacies and distinctions; its challenges and possibilities; its readers, their intelligence and expectations, and our responsibility to them; and its importance in the world of fiction.

Card’s book offers real advice about the bones of writing, and writing speculative fiction in particular. At the same time, he offers up a healthy dose of inspiration that rings truer and more motivational than some other books on writing.

I absolutely loved it, and took my time reading it so I could both study its instruction and savor its charm. This is definitely a book I will not only hold on to, but will plan to read again and again.
