I'm a writer and editor living in Lake Tahoe, California. I've worked on projects ranging from business and marketing to fiction, memoir, and self-help. Creative projects are my favorite type of work; I love working with an author to make their writing the best it can be!
I offer copy editing and developmental editing services for fiction and non-fiction. You'll find detailed descriptions for both types of editing below. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for a quote!
Sometimes referred to as structural or content editing. We'll look for plot holes, dropped characters, logical inconsistencies, and ways to improve your overall manuscript, including identifying structural deficiencies, weak arguments, and unsupported claims in nonfiction books.
We'll take a look at your book line-by-line, focusing on style and tone. We'll correct errors in spelling, grammar, syntax, dialogue formatting, and punctuation use. We'll watch for commonly confused words (e.g., affect and effect) as well as check for internal consistency of facts and consistent treatment of capitalization, hyphenation, and numerals. The goal is to ensure the book is clear and consistent and that it smoothly transitions from sentence to sentence, paragraph to paragraph, chapter to chapter.
