Developmental editing is “big picture” editing. Areas of focus include: structure, story flow, character development, setting, organization, conflict, point-of-view, and voice. Line editing ensures that your writing demonstrates competency with the English language. Areas of focus include: word, sentence, paragraph, and brevity. Copy Editing will fine-tune your writing for quality by incorporating the rules of usage, composition, and form. Areas of focus include: grammar, punctuation, syntax, spelling, consistency, and fact checking. Finally, we have Proofreading. Send it in for a final once-over to make sure you’ve dotted all your I’s and crossed all your T’s. Areas of focus include: spelling, punctuation, consistency, repetition, and formatting. |
